The Channel

The Channel funds LGBTIQ+ community projects. We are

growing the pot of gold under the rainbow

and changing the way Australians experience gender and sexuality for the better!

The Channel is a Giving Circle. Members join, make a monthly or annual donation (starting at just $25 per month), learn about challenges and opportunities faced by LGBTIQ+ communities, vote on community projects they want to support with grants from the pooled donations, and see the positive social change they have achieved collectively.

We have two forms of Membership:

Haring Memberships are tax deductible and 100% of Membership donations are distributed through our grant rounds.

We're also a community. We run events, share stories and provide volunteering opportunities for our Members and the communities they support.

So why not support the Australian rainbow community and join as a Member today?

The Channel is bringing giveOUTday to Australia in 2019! Inspired by the success of the US-based Give OUT Day, giveOUTday AU is a national day of giving to LGBTIQ+ communities. If you're a project or community group directly benefiting or celebrating LGBTIQ+ communities in Australia, you can learn more about participating in giveOUTday on the sign up page here. Participating projects and community groups will receive support with setup and promotion from the giveOUTday AU team, and donations made to participants through the giveOUTday AU platform will be matched dollar for dollar.* Pre-pledges are now open, you can view the ever growing list of projects here.

In collaboration with giveOUTday AU, The Channel is offering two grants of $5,000 each to projects or community groups participating in giveOUTday and working to benefit rural and regional LGBTIQ+ communities. We're calling on eligible groups to register their project on the giveOUTday AU platform by 5pm 31 March 2019 to be shortlisted. Find out more here.
